Nasdaq for Nonprofits?

Could a stock market (of sorts) for nonprofits lend to transparency and help donors make better charitable investments? 

We love the question because it's no secret that our sector is not the most efficient. Donors give for many reasons: because someone asked, an issue speaks to a personal life experience, emotional appeal, obligation to a business collgeaue or community relation, guilt, and many others. Sometimes regardless of aforementioned reasons, the organization they are supporting really is the most effective at creating the change they want to make in the world.  But could a Nasdaq for nonprofits fufill this role? We would like to think so, but are our financial markets still rational? Should they be the standard? One does wonder.
