Alison Riith
Philanthropy Fellow
Year I joined IP: 2024
What I bring to IP: A decade of nonprofit experience, data subject matter expertise, and a genuine interest in helping families maximize their philanthropic impact. Prior to IP, I worked at my local community foundation in roles that supported prospect research, internal research and reporting, and data management. I have a BA in economics from Illinois Wesleyan University, MPA in nonprofit management from Fairfield University, and MPP from the University of Connecticut. I also hold a graduate certificate in geographic information systems (GIS) from the University of Connecticut and am a graduate of the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (LEND) program at the Westchester Institute for Human Development.
What I love most about my work: At IP I am constantly exposed to different issue areas, ideas, and resources, and I enjoy integrating new knowledge into my work, particularly as it relates to social impact, equity, and outcomes.
What I am most excited about learning right now: The ins and outs of family philanthropy! In my role, I have the opportunity to dive deeper into the world of private foundation grantmaking, operations, strategy, and more.
What I do when I'm not working: On the weekends you'll find me hiking or trying out new brunch recipes. I'm new to gardening and enjoy time outside tending to my fruits, veggies, and catnip. Mostly I enjoy traveling and spending time with family.
What my coworkers say about me: Alison is always willing to jump in and lend a hand. She constantly pursues new learning opportunities and finds ways to apply new concepts and skills to her work. Alison
