Year I joined IP: 2019

What I bring to IP: After working in the wealth management industry for over 12 years, I embraced a career change into the field of philanthropy.  Little did I know that there would be an extraordinary list of skills learned in finance that would easily transfer into my work with IP. I act as an internal resource for our Boards and staff for any investment-related items, and I truly enjoy being able to translate the often-complicated language of the investment world into digestible form. It was a privilege to walk through tough financial decisions and life circumstances with my individual clients, knowing that they trusted me to do so. Since joining IP, I’ve had the opportunity build authentic and meaningful relationships with our foundations and staff, with the continued goal of always being a trusted partner.  My focus continues to be on listening, connecting, and growing so I can continue to serve our clients in the most impactful way. 

What I love most about my work: I’m grateful to come to work each day alongside a team of intelligent, motivated individuals driven by our client’s goals, all while working to make the world a better place (sounds cliché, but its pretty great when its true!). In addition, my clients continue to provide me opportunities to learn, stay curious, and truly have fun. 

What I am most excited about learning right now: The field of philanthropy is a major catalyst for social progress, and learning more about social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion is continually a focus for me. I’m also drawn to impact investing and how foundations can demand change not only through their grantmaking, but also through their endowments.    

What I do when I’m not working: Spending time with my favorite people – my husband and two kids – tops my list.  We enjoy visiting our family farm, spending time outside (mostly at playgrounds these days) and going on new adventures as a family.  When I get spare moments to myself, I enjoy baking (or eating) anything sweet.  

What my coworkers say about me: Jill is genuine, fun, and curious. She has an incredible capacity to find creative solutions to problems like fitting together pieces of a puzzle. She has an incredible talent for quickly building rapport with others and making the opaque world of investments crystal clear.
